Indigo

Now we dip. Dye, wash, dry to oxidize. The cool thing is the bath is purple, your piece comes out green and then it turns that amazing blue color as it hits the oxygen in the air.

Stay tuned to see the finished results...!!!

The next stage is designing, wrapping, tying, folding, twisting, bundling and experimenting! I love this stage because you can plan it all out carefully, or just randomly do something, and never know if it's going to work out or not and which one will come out the most beautiful. Here are some shots of this process.

Indigo

I love taking classes and learning a new craft or technique. I've always been fascinated by indigo. The history and tradition of the craft and the outrageously beautiful color!
Here are some shots of the first of many stages.

Even just watching the dye mix and transform before your eyes is awe inspiring!
