Hats that make you smile

These hats were a hit at the winter carnivale. They bring a smile to everyone's face.

We lost someone in our community last weekend.  The service was yesterday and I was so moved by the love and support everyone showed.  I feel so lucky to be a part of this community.

The Sketchbook project is opening tonight in Brooklyn.  28,838  people from 94 countries have participated.  Each was given a moleskin sketchbook to fill with a theme.  The theme I choose was Happy Thoughts.  When I sat down and started, I thought, my Happy Thoughts are my two girls so why not invite them on the adventure!?! So the three of us had fun and doodled away.  ( I have to mention, like most projects, I wait until the last minute, so we did this in less than 2 weeks!)   Check it out on tour http://arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject

Carnivale this Sunday, Feb 20

Chili Cook off, Tractor parade, street performers, treats in the shops, sales, refreshments, ice carving, music, shows, the list goes on!  Come to Chester on Sunday bring your friends and family and enjoy the festivities!

Look what I found on the beach today or what found me

What a wonderful day!  It was sunny and 50 degrees, a promise of spring!  I went for a great walk on the beach and as I was wandering around, I looked down and found love tucked into the sand.  Happy Valentine's Day!

New beauties from Matta

Matta is one of my favorite collections we have the shop! There is always something new and beautiful. 
Here is a sampling of the new wall hangings/throws just delivered.

I have coveted these vintage pieces for a long time.  They are made from vintage embroidered saris.  Take a close look at the hand work and how they are pieced together.  Each one is one of a kind.  No two are alike.

Ice Storm

When I was younger, I was fascinated by  ice on branches.  I would just stare in amazement. It's as if the whole tree was dipped in water and then frozen in time.  I love the detail of these delicate lines.  This was taken on a walk in NY, the entire city was frozen.
