Who doesn't love pearls?!

winter white pearls and sterling

New beauties from Matta

Matta is one of my favorite collections we have the shop! There is always something new and beautiful.
Here is a sampling of the new wall hangings/throws just delivered.

I have coveted these vintage pieces for a long time.  They are made from vintage embroidered saris.  Take a close look at the hand work and how they are pieced together.  Each one is one of a kind.  No two are alike.

Ice Storm

When I was younger, I was fascinated by  ice on branches.  I would just stare in amazement. It's as if the whole tree was dipped in water and then frozen in time.  I love the detail of these delicate lines.  This was taken on a walk in NY, the entire city was frozen.

Great Letters

Found this vintage 1940 collection of letters. I've always been a fan of writing letters.  Any one close to me has a collection of Dina doodles and musings from over the years.  I love the cursive on this cover.  Inside the letters are from Beethoven, Keats, Votaire,Nietzsche, Poe, Dickinson, Dostoevsky, the list goes on.  Interestingly, the book is arranged by subject: Love,Justice,Despair,Controversy,Friendship,Irony and so on! Winter is the best time to cuddle up and read!

Thank you Laura at 52 Flea!

Great post on a wonderful blog.  Laura from 52 Flea says,
"Whenever I visit my friend Paula in Connecticut we usually take the short drive to the charming town of Chester. It is a beautiful historic mill town in the Connecticut River Valley that is known for its art galleries, elegant shops and great restaurants.

We always stop in at the shop of  Dina Varano
which features her beautiful jewelry designs as well as a collection of fine crafts, eclectic home decor, beautiful purses, scarves, folk art  and unique and interesting gifts."
