The Sketchbook Project

 

So, I just stumbled onto this great project!   I am going to do it.  I love sketchbooks and the idea of an exhibition gallery full of them.  The same moleskine sketchbook filled by different people from around the world.  Cool!  Fill it with words, poems, drawings, collages, works of art, ideas, doodles, thoughts, worries, lists, goals, something sacred, memories, keepsakes, photos, something you'd like to share or not!!

Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the country. After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be bar coded and available for the public to view. Anyone - from anywhere in the world - can be a part of the project.

For the month of September at DeCordova

 Here are a few photos from my show at the Store at DeCordova.  

They did a great display.  People really liked seeing the drawings. 

I hope to have more shows showing my process.  Thank you to DeCordova!

We packed the whole family to check it out.  The Sculpture Park is amazing!  

I highly recommend it.  The kids ran around all day.  

There are 35 acres on a beautiful landscape. The list of artists is impressive.

Just sent off a package of jewels to the Store at the DeCordova Sculpture Park
and Museum in Lincoln MA. I was lucky to be asked to be their
featured artist of the month! If you can, come to the opening
this Sunday, September 5 from 2-4.

Sailing

This has been our home in the last few days.
Ahhh, to be out there on the sea, watching the sunrise and sunset,
feeling the power of the wind and the mystery of the sea.
What a great summer!

Farm Dinner at Whitegate

What a beautiful night! Have you been to a farm dinner yet?
It is such a memorable experience! All the food is from the land,
or a close local source, dinner is served on long beautiful
white tables lined with flowers freshly picked from the garden,
candles flickering and lots and lots of wine!!
The food is not only gorgeous,
but keeps coming and is and magically delicious!
This is a shot of the wonderful salad we had last night.
Heirloom tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, basil,
fresh goat cheese with a lemon vinaigrette.

Show Time!

Was in the city yesterday at the start of many shows for the fall.
It is so fun to be out there scouting special treasures for the store!
We found lots of new designers...stay tuned...the merchandise
will be coming in shortly... leather bags from Columbia,
colorful belts from California, feathers from Los Angeles,
knits from Peru, felted silk scarves from Mexico...

Yes, I know I've been MIA. But guess what? We've been at the beach having a real summer! Yeah!
